Gadget Friday - Kop Out

Do comics count as gadgets? If they do, you'll love my refernce to BoltCity. This is one heck of a great place for absolutely awesome comics. Check this one out, I find it hilarious:

I know I know, there are no reviews or new gadgets introduced. I'm really sorry, I've just had too much going on at home. On top of that I really have to sort out my new Powerbook which arrived yesterday :) SuperDuper.

Oh, one thing that really got me hooked, was lots of articles on Fountain Pens. So here we go, something gadgety - a discussion point of sorts: in light of the near ubiquitous nature of the qwerty keyboard, will school children be taught Mavis Davis Typing Skills rather than a wonderful handwriting script? What will become of the wonderful Fountain Pens of yore? Discuss (max 500 words) 10 points

Comics. I can't get enough of them.

Whenever people listen I still go on about The Fury, the part-organic machine that goes on a rampage through various inter-related dimensions on a hunt to exterminate Captain UK. One of my favourite villains of all-time!

Or what about Kulan Gath, a sorcerer from the Hyperborian Era, who turns New York into bizarre fantasy world which captivates The Avengers and The Xmen - there is a particularly powerful scene where Spiderman ends up being crucified.

I could go on and on and on... but I will stop here and just mention two webcomics:

    and

    Both are real good fun!

first, let me say that as a devoted fountain pen user, it would be a very sad day if handwriting became a thing of the past. I use a decent ink pen almost all the time at work, and I despair at the nasty disposable pens that almost everyone else uses. I think they think of me as an oddity - not only do I use an ink pen, but I also write my notes in a little A5 sized, squared moleskine notebook.

    Now then. Comics.

    The Watchmen
    V for Vendetta
    The Dark Knight Returns

3 of the greatest things I have ever read, bar none. Just brilliant.

I think my favourite character though (bar "V") is probably DareDevil. A blind lawyer by day....

Ah. fantastic. I'm thinking of buying some comics tomorrow actually. That and an 800-page novel.

Brilliant comic! It should have the soundtrack of "Love, it's a bitch!"
